JESSICA DAVIS

Art Therapy Aide

First and foremost I am excited to be a new member of the CCC Team. Thus far, it has already been such a remarkable experience. I am excited to continue to bring my extensive background of working with children to this role. As the new Art Therapy Aide I assist CCC’s Art Therapist Alex Johnson with our group of children ages 4-7. In my role I assist the art therapist with the provision of basic therapy treatment  interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training, and the use of recreational activity interventions, designed to reach educational and treatment goals and outcomes. I also assist Ms. Johnson in providing therapeutic art activities that help our clients improve and maintain cognitive, social, and emotional functioning. It is truly an honor to be in this role, be apart of this organization, and work with our wonderful group of children.

My name is Jessica Davis. I am from Wilmington Delaware, where I have spent much of my life working and volunteering in my community to strengthen and help make it a better place in which adults, families, and children can thrive. I am a graduate of Wilmington University where I received my Bachelors in Psychology, a graduate of Delaware Technical Community College where from there, I became a Certified Early Childhood Educator, and I am also a Certified Mentor. I have over 10 years of experience working with children of all demographics in a variety of settings such as, community based programs, mental health programs, and schools. Most of my work, education, and research has been
focused and devoted to mental health, community engagement , politics, child development, child advocacy, and, education. In my persistent efforts to be of service to those in need, as I further my education those important areas will continue to be focus points of mine. It is an immense privilege to service my community and be on the front lines of change and it will remain my life’s purpose.
