You ask, “What is wrong with me?” You’re suffering from trauma. The violent event(s) may have taken place recently or years ago. . The trauma exists. You need to take care of yourself.
Experiencing violence—especially when it happens to you or to someone you know and care about—is likely to cause stress, distress, anger, grief, perhaps fear, insecurity, and feelings of helplessness and isolation. This is called trauma.
