CCC Introduces Mentorship to Chester Youth through Trauma-informed sport programming
Trauma-informed Basketball Program
The Chester Community Coalition (CCC) runs a Trauma-Informed Basketball Prevention Program, which pairs physical basketball skill-building with guided, trauma-informed conversations for local youth ages 14–18. The program focuses on emotional growth, conflict resolution, mental toughness, and mentorship. Our goal is to provide a safe, physical outlet while equipping Chester youth with practical tools to regulate their emotions, build resilience, and navigate community challenges.
WAR Ready Boxing
Our Winter programming was a huge success!
Thanks to the addition of brand-new boxing equipment, our participants built their skills, confidence, and discipline through hands-on training. It's been inspiring to see the equipment put to immediate use as youth continued developing both inside and outside the ring.
We're also proud to announce we were able to collaborate with Making a Change Group, a fellow 3SN (Safer Schools Stronger Neighborhood Coalition) organization. By joining forces, we expanded the reach of our mentorship efforts, creating more opportunities for young people to connect with positive role models and increasing the number of participants we can serve together.
Partnerships like this strengthen our community and reinforce our shared commitment to empowering youth through mentorship, wellness, and meaningful engagement.
Be sure to follow Making a Change Group on Instagram to stay connected with their incredible work and support our collective mission to create safer schools and stronger neighborhoods.
