Volunteer
Do you want to be part of Chester healing from violence? Do you have time or skills that you want to put in the service of your community? Volunteer with us!
Background:
When Chester Community Coalition (CCC) started offering trauma-focused group therapy five years ago, we had one full time staff member and 4 part-time therapists. Urban Affairs Coalition, our fiscal sponsor, handled our accounting, our federal and state reports, our HR, and more. Our Advisory Board guided program and fundraising.
Over the last five years, the services we offer have grown to include individual therapy, case management, and collaboration with Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Delaware County’s first Hospital Linked Violence Intervention Program (HVIP). We work together with other violence prevention organizations to enhance the collective impact of our work to transform the City of Chester. We employ 5 full-time staff.
Over the next 18 – 24 months, we will convert CCC into a stand-alone tax-exempt nonprofit, and our Advisory Board will take on fiduciary oversight for all aspects of financial and operational management. We are recruiting people to support this growth.
We are recruiting:
- Licensed therapists and counselors to assist in our response to schools following a violent incident.
- Volunteers to help families assemble Soul Boxes for their loved ones lost or injured by gun violence.
- Volunteers with finance skills to serve on our finance committee. Click here to learn more.
- Volunteers with fundraising experience and skills to serve on our Development committee. Click here to learn more.
- We are also seeking candidates for Chester Community Coalition’s Advisory Board whose diverse knowledge and skills can help guide us into the future. Click here to learn more.
